  • When will the Get Together take place?
We are already very excited to start the weekend in a relaxed way on Friday, July 14, 2023 with you. From 6 pm the fire place will be burning and cool drinks will be served. "Relaxed" is the motto of the evening, so please don't stress in weekend traffic if you have a long journey. We will sit together in a cozy atmosphere until about midnight. So no rush!
  • Is there a dress code for the Get Together?
Comfortable and relaxed is also the motto for this occasion. Jeans, lumberjack shirt, t-shirt or onesie, as long as it's comfortable and not sensitive to smoke, it fits the evening. Take a warm jacket with you, too, just in case. The north of Germany is known for changing weather.
  • How do you pay the cost of 29 EUR per person at the Get Together?
Guests of Gut Schöneworth pay their own share together with the overnight stay upon departure on Sunday. External guests pay directly to the staff of Gut Schöneworth at the end of the evening (on July 14th 2023). Payment is possible in cash (preferred), EC card or by credit card.
  • Was ist eine freie TrauungWhat is a free wedding ceremony?
The free wedding ceremony offers couples the opportunity to say "I do" in their own way. It is not legally binding, but offers couples great flexibility in the ceremony and can be freely arranged according to their own wishes and ideas. This creates very personal and individual ceremonies with a lot of room for emotions. Our free wedding ceremony will also have a particularly personal touch, as it will be conducted by Britta, a long-time friend of Thorben. The ceremony will be held in German. However we will try to provide you with an English guidance if possible. In Germany, the registry office is responsible for a legally binding marriage. Therefore, it is not uncommon for couples in Germany to often celebrate two wedding ceremonies: a civil ceremony and a free wedding or church wedding. We decided to have an intimate legal marriage on January 15th 2023 in Australia and an emotional free wedding ceremony with ring exchange and vows in the circle of our loved ones 6 months later, on July 15th 2023.
  • Are Thorben and Janine already legally married?
We have already said yes to each other in Melbourne on January 15th, 2023. It was a very intimate wonderful ceremony on the beach in Brighton with our best man Christian and maid of honor Cassie as well as Cassie's husband Gordon and our celebrant Jess. We didn't know if this ceremony would actually happen until shortly before we left for Australia. For this reason, some of you probably don't know about it yet. This marriage is legally binding in Australia and we are currently in the process of having it recognized in Germany. For us, however, it was always certain that despite a small "registry office wedding", we would like to experience our wedding together with our family and wonderful friends. For this reason, we are looking forward with anticipation to July 15.
  • May photos / videos be taken?
We would like to invite you to enjoy the ceremony to the fullest and without the distractions of cameras and cell phones. We therefore ask you not to take photos during the ceremony. Our wonderful photographer Anna will capture every wonderful moment. Outside of the ceremony you are not only allowed to document this great weekend in media, but it is expressly desired! We will also have a few challenges ready for you. Please share your photos & videos with us and the other guests. We have purchased an app for this, which enables sharing among guests (with password protection). Information on this can be found at: jt-borse.com/trauung
  • Eine Zeitkapsel, was ist damit gemeint?
We will have a box on site in which we will collect a wide variety of memories from the day and also from the (long) journey of planning the wedding. This can include: a photo of us with our dance teacher, decorative elements (from the wedding & hens or stack do), wine of the day, tips, thoughts or anything else from the guests, etc. If you also want to contribute something to the time capsule, then we would be very happy. We will open the time capsule on our first wedding anniversary (and probably many more) and reminisce with joy of that day.
  • Is there a dress code?
We hope for a warm summer wedding with lots of fun, games and sun. Therefore, cheerful summer party outfits in which you feel comfortable fit best. Whether it's a colorful dress, breezy jumpsuit, comfy chinos... it's important that you feel comfortable. There is no obligation to wear a tie or jacket. And everyone is allowed to wear red! Only white would the bride like to reserve as her color. Jeans and lumberjack shirt we would still rather see on Friday than on Saturday.
  • Any gift requests?
We are so grateful that you travel from all corners of the world to our wedding. This is the greatest gift for us and are not expecting any presents. If you still want to gift us a little something, we appreciate a contribution for our next big travel adventure (sustainably gifted with a little card) or offer us a place to stay next time we pass through your home town.
  • Is there anything to consider in terms of speeches, contributions and surprises for the bride and groom?
Typical games, such as the shoe game, tree trunk sawing, or bride kidnapping are not quite to our taste. If you still want to surprise us with a speech, a musical performance or any other contribution, please contact directly and soon (by June 15, 2023 at the latest) Kristina (a.kristina.krause@gmx.de) or Eike (breike@o2mail.de).

  • Check-in at the Heiko Sieb is not until 5 p.m. on Saturday, so what to do now?

Payment is made directly to Gut Schöneworth at check-out. Accepted payment methods are cash (preferred), EC card and credit card.
  • Are the guest rooms within baby monitor range of the dance hall?
We have made sure that everyone gets a room that is best suited for your individual needs. However, we cannot guarantee that your baby monitor will reach from your room to the dance hall. Therefore, we recommend a baby monitor app. The paid Babyphone 3G app has received particularly good reviews:: Apple App Store Google Playstore There are certainly other (free) alternatives.
